For this experience we encourage users to take a walk outside along the Kent coast and experience the landscape this area has to offer.
The Body as Data Project explores the border of our Kent coast and asks how this border can be mobilised, how the land holds within it a collage of hidden histories, and how modern borders and their surveillance technologies can be turned upside down.
This project stems from research surrounding implications of performance on migration, and the implications of new technologies at borders as an oppressive force. The artists are testing a methodology for performance on migration (with new technologies) which might be able to avoid these problems of aestheticising, speaking for, seeing certain bodies as disposable, etc.
This app is part of the 2024 series of performative events that travelled across the Kent coast. The experience features a section of The Seventh Neck by T.Tegento - the full novel is available online.
